Pipe Stress Analysis – Introduction

2 days (16 hours)

The content of the seminar:

In recent years, increasing availability of various computer applications for stress and flexibility analysis of piping systems and their simplicity caused that engineers, especially younger ones, are not considering the background of these applications. They are not thinking critically about how results are achieved and why they represent what they represent.

One does not think about whether the results obtained are accurate. The bottom line is no longer considering engineering. The purpose of this seminar is that those really interested in stress and flexibility analysis of piping systems introduce/remind/teach what is hidden behind such computer applications.

The seminar will handle the theoretical basis of calculating piping stresses, the methods for manual calculation of stress and flexibility of piping system, but also the basis on which computer applications are based (finite element method, beam elements).
